Guided city tour in Vilnius and trip to Trakai
Saturday, 10 September
Vilnius is the Baroque Pearl in the Northeast
Your first acquaintance with the city will start at 9.30 am. in the historic grounds of Vilnius University (Universiteto st. 5) and take approximately 3 hours. After or during the tour there will be a short coffee break (30-45 minutes).
During the tour you will visit the following sites: the former Bishops´ Palace, Cathedral of Vilnius (entrance), Castle Street, St. Anne’s Church and monastery of St. Bernardine in Brick Gothic style, the former Jewish district, the City Hall, the Orthodox monastery with the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Gate of Dawn.
The departure for Trakai (the former residence of Lithuanian Grand Dukes) will take place at 1.00 p.m. from the Gate of Dawn (Bazilijonų st. 14).
Lunch: at 2.00 pm. in Trakai.
Menu: two kibinai (traditional oven baked pastries with a filling, a dish of Karaite ethnic minority) and chicken bouillon.
Castle tour: at 3.00 pm.
Return to Vilnius: at 5.00 pm.
Arrival in Vilnius: around 6.00 pm.
